How
does the Airfree Air Sterilizer work?
Airfree utilizes heat to sterilize the air, which
is pulled into its patented ceramic core by air convection. Inside
the ceramic core air is sterilized at high temperatures (between 200º
to 300º C). All living micro-organism, bacteria or virus is incinerated
regardless of how resistant or dangerous they might be. See
How It Works
Are there
any side effects to the Airfree Air Sterilizer?
Airfree has NO side affects, thus it can be used in every room to
improve indoor air quality.
What
is the Airfree Air Sterilizer's cleaning capacity?
Airfree has two models: The P1000 covers 450 square feet and the
P2000 covers 550 square feet. Although effective in small apartments,
larger homes may require more than one Airfree Air Sterilizer device.
Can
Airfree be installed in walk-in closets?
Yes, as long as Airfree is not placed under shelves
or its efficiency will be reduced. Airfree is ideal for pantries, but
needs to be placed free of obstacles. Recommended minimum room volume
is 400 cubic feet (roughly 7x7 room).
Can
it be used in rooms with air conditioning?
Yes. You can install an Airfree unit in any room inside
a central air conditioned home or office. In fact, research indicates
that Airfree is even more effective in refrigerated rooms. It is also
highly effective in commercial walk-in coolers.
Can
Airfree be placed in a corridor to protect connecting rooms?
No. Airfree is to be placed in just one room, away from
open windows and doors. The air cleaning efficiency in rooms connected
to that corridor where Airfree is installed is diminished, as walls
and doorways reduce airflow into the rooms. So it is not recommended,
unless each room has an Airfree plugged in.
Can
Airfree be installed in closed rooms?
Yes. Minimum recommended room volume is 400 cubic feet.
Do
I need to keep my doors and windows closed?
No. Regular
ventilation does not affect Airfree efficiency. It is recommended,
however, that you don't place Airfree next to window or doors nor in
the middle of an air stream.
Can
I use Airfree in the living room then move it to the bedroom at
night?
No. In order
for achieve maximum results, Airfree should always be in the same room,
running 24 hours a day. Airfree's patented technology works gradually
and cannot be interrupted, and moving it from one room to another interrupts
the cycle.
Should I
unplug Airfree when leaving the house or office?
No. In order to be efficient Airfree must be always on in the same
room.
What
happens if Airfree is disconnected or there is a power outage?
If the Airfree
is off for only a couple of hours, it will quickly recover lost time.
For longer outages, it will need much more time to achieve maximum
results.
Does
the Airfree
Air Purifier eliminate bacteria and
viruses?
Yes.
Airfree' s bactericide and germicide efficiency is recognized by
international independent laboratories and universities. Please visit
the Test Page where many tests are available. Read

How
does Airfree eliminate dust mites?
Mold reduction
in the atmosphere causes a reduction in the mold dependant dust mite
population. Airfree also destroys the harmful toxins and fungus freed
by dust mite feces that trigger respiratory allergies.
How
does Airfree eliminate fungi?
Fungi spores (fungi "seeds") are incinerated
inside the patented ceramic core of Airfree, the same as bacteria and
viruses. Read

Does
Airfree destroy viruses?
Yes. The
smallest microorganisms the better for Airfree as they are more easily
carried by air flows into the patented ceramic core of Airfree. Airfree
is the best ally in preventing respiratory diseases. Read

Does
Airfree eliminate tobacco smell?
Customers
report that Airfree works extremely well at eliminating tobacco odors.
There is no independent test yet, but it is currently under way. Any
organic odor is eliminated, including that caused by a cat litter box.
Does
Airfree release any gas or chemical product?
No. Sterilization is done by heat in such a way that no emissions are
released into the environment. In fact, Airfree actually reduces the
toxic gas ozone by 26%.
Does
Airfree affect the heat and humidity of a room?
No.
Airfree offers very little change to a room's temperature and humidity.
It would take 2 Airfree units to emit the same extra heat as one person
in the room
Does
Airfree require filter replacement?
No. Airfree has no filters and requires no maintenance other than periodically
wiping the top lid with a clean dry or damp cloth. When cleaning Airfree
please disconnect it from the electric source.
Is
Airfree's electric consumption high?
No. Airfree's consumption is less than a 50 watt light bulb. Most standard
light bulbs consume 6-100 watts.
Can
children be burned when touching the Airfree unit?
No. Airfree's top lid achieves a maximum temperature of 144°
F (62º C) right at its center, which for some people with sensitive
hands could provide mild discomfort, but the unit isn't hot enough
to cause any burn.
How
will I know if my Airfree is not working?
As long as the top lid is warm, Airfree is working properly. If the
lid is cold, please refer to the instructions manual.
How
long is the warranty?
Airfree warranty is 24 months from the date of purchase. Please make
sure you keep your Warranty card and store receipt.
What
is CADR?
CADR stands for Clean Air Delivery Rate, and it is a
way to measure how fast an air cleaner removes airborne contaminants
over a short period of time. CADR is a standard laboratory test for
some manufacturers in the air purifier industry, using a specific size
chamber with premeasured levels of airborne particulates.
Does
CADR measure the effectiveness of the Airfree?
No. CADR is not designed to test the Airfree technology.
The AHAM seal (usually found on the back of an air cleaner’s box) lists
three Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) numbers: one for tobacco smoke,
one for pollen and one for dust. The CADR indicates the volume of filtered
air delivered by an air cleaner. The higher the tobacco smoke, pollen
and dust numbers, the faster the unit filters the air. The
main reason why CADR is not designed for Airfree is because Airfree
does not filter but destroys microorganisms instead, and CADR only
applies to volume of filtered air delivered by an air cleaner as stated
above. CADR does not measure microorganism reduction like mold and
bacteria, which is only detectable by a microbiology lab. Airfree
destroys (not trap or attract to a surface) any microorganism regardless
of how small they might be. 99,99% of all organic particles are fully
destroyed when passing through the Airfree U.S. patented ceramic core.
Does
the Airfree anti-stress light interfere with Airfree's sterilizing
function?
No. The anti-stress light has an aesthetic effect and can be
relaxing too or simply used as a night light in children or
newborn bedrooms. According to chromo therapy the blue light
has a calming and relaxing effect.
My
Airfree P1000 or Platinum 2000 anti stress light is blinking,
what does it mean?
Always keep Airfree in its vertical position. Do not attempt
to use it sideways, under furniture, or with its bottom air
inlets or outlets blocked, preventing air to flow in and
sterilized air to flow out. If any of the above occurs, the
Thermo-dynamic sterilizing ceramic core will be disconnected
as the unit will not work properly in those conditions, and
after about one minute, the anti-stress light will start
blinking to call your attention, indicating poor installation,
or eventual malfunctioning. After a few seconds of being
properly installed the anti-stress light will stop blinking.
If the light does not stop blinking after 5 minutes, please
contact service.
