Some
of the most toxic indoor air is found in nail salons. There are a number
of noxious fumes in the polish, remover, varnish and adhesives commonly
used at nail salons. Chemicals that are used in nail care products include,
but are not limited to, toluene and formaldehyde, which the federal Occupational
Safety & Health Administration classifies as carcinogens (cancer-causing).
The solvents emit strong doses of chemicals, known as VOC's (volatile organic compounds), that are dangerous to the health of nail professionals, other salon employees, salon clients, local residents and area workers who are subject to a host of chemicals from nail care products at salons.

The Air Oasis 5000 air purifier is a commercial unit, but still available to the public. This unit contains two 9 inch AHPCO Cells and two fans. High speed engages both fans, while low engages only one fan. The Air Oasis 5000 has the strength of two Air Oasis ACT 9" Induct units, but is in a portable case. This unit produces up to 3.87 ppm of ozone. It you want more ozone, pick the NO Metal Catalyst option. This unit is only recommended for commercial places with high pollution; for instance, smoky bars and restaurants with 6 or more concurrent smokers, large nail salons doing a high volume of acrylic nails, large kennels with 25 or more animals. Airpura V-600 Air Cleaner with Super Carbon (1 to 6 Stations)
Airpura V-600 has a hefty 18 pound super carbon designed for problems that are formaldehyde and ammonia based, like products used in nail and hair salons and spas, and a 5-year HEPA filter to capture nail dust. The V-600 can treat 1 to 6 nail stations (fewer if mostly acrylic nails). The two special microbial (bacteria and viruses) suppressing filters help to protect the 18 pound carbon bed. If your salon does a high volume of acrylic nails, the Airpura C-600 with a 26 pound super carbon upgrade is your best choice.
