Countertop Water Filters are ideal for use in Restaurants, Kitchens,
Wet Bars,
Bathroom Sinks . . . anywhere fresh, pure, pollution-free,
great
tasting drinking or cooking water is desired.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Delta Faucets DO NOT WORK
with CuZn Countertop Water Systems
Clean
water is the lifeline to good health and CuZn™ Refillable Countertop
Water Filters provide the best possible water for cooking, drinking
and washing every time you turn on the faucet.
Using a combination of
trace minerals (copper and zinc in the patented form of KDF®, which
meets NSF standards 42 and 61) and coconut shell carbon, the CuZn Refillable
Countertop water filter removes more than 600 contaminants from water,
including chlorine, lead, heavy metals, trihalomethanes (THMs), herbicides
and pesticides much the same as Nature uses the earth and its minerals
to cleanse water. (Unlike carbon-only filters, bacteria can't grow
inside the bacteriostatic CuZn filters!) See How
CuZn Filtration Works.
The CuZn Refillable Countertop
Water Filter is also excellent in situations where sulfur and iron
are present and a CuZn Whole House system is not feasible. Sulfur and
iron expends the media more quickly than other contaminants, so refilling
the system is economical and environmentally responsible.

Single Cartridge Countertop Water Filters
The
CuZn Refillable Countertop Water Filter system treats all incoming
cold water that goes to the kitchen or bathroom sink. Turn on your
cold water faucet for an uninterrupted supply of fresh, clear, filtered
water. The CuZn Countertop can also filter hot water, provided it is
flushed with cold water afterward to release the heat that would otherwise
be trapped within the filter housing. The CuZn™ Single
Cartridge Countertop Water Filters are available in the following models:
Swivel
Spout Style
Swivel
Spout models (shown in picture to the right) allows taller glasses
and pots to be placed under it to catch the water. The water diverter
is attached to the end of the sink faucet, and has a button that is
engaged to divert the water through the filter and out the water filter
spout.
Countertop swivel
spout models are available in three different micron sizes;
the smaller the micron the more particulate is removed from the water.
However, please note that the smaller the micron size, the sooner the
filter must be replaced because the filter becomes clogged sooner. You can get an idea of how much particulate your water has by looking
at the contents of the filter by removing the strainer at the end of
your sink
faucet.

Double Diverter
Model
Double
Diverter model (shown in picture to the right) has a twin-hose set-up
so that water enters the filter from the kitchen faucet, goes through
the filter, and then returns to the kitchen faucet where it is released.
The advantage of the double diverter model is that the filter body
can be set back away from the sink. The double diverter model comes
standard with a 35" length hose (a 72" length hose is available on
request). The double diverter model is available in the following options:
20 Micron Non-Refillable 20,000 gallon water filter $149.00
5 Micron Refillable 8,000 gallon water filter $159.00 (replacement
filter is $49.95)

Need to Remove Chloramines, Fluoride, Arsenic, Nitrates or Cysts?
Some water contaminants require addition filtration media to solve the
problem. CuZn offers double- and triple-cartridge water filtration systems,
in countertop and under-counter models, that can treat a variety of water
pollution problems. See each respective section for more information
about how CuZn water systems
treat that specific problem:
Cysts and Pharmceutical Drugs
Common
water-borne microbiological cysts are Cryptosporidium or Giardia cysts.
If your municipal water department is using chlorine and/or chloramines
to treat your water, cysts should not be a problem unless there is a
contamination in the water lines somewhere between your house and the
water processing plant. If you are on well water, cysts are potentially
a problem. A water test can detect cysts in your water.
Also, a recent
analysis of tap water supplies in major metropolitan areas discovered
that the water was contaminated with trace amounts of pharmaceuticals
including antibiotics, anti-seizure medications, anti-inflammatory drugs,
psychotropic drugs, pain medications and even caffeine. If you suspect
that your water may be contaminate with cysts or
pharmaceutical drugs,
upgrade to the 1-micron
absolute acid wash coconut shell carbon filter.
Chloramines
Chloramine is a mixture of chlorine and ammonia, which is added to the
water of many cities as a substitute for free chlorine. It is often referred
to in the plural, as “chloramines,” because it can take on a number of
forms according to the pH and mineral content of the water. The use of
monochloramine as a primary disinfectant in a municipal water supply
presents specific removal issues due to its low degradation rate. This
means that the disinfectant will be persistent and have a long life within
a municipal water supply. If your water is treated with chloromines, click
here.
Fluoride
and Fluorine Removal
Fluoride is a severe biological poison. Being intensely
negative, it unlatches positive hydrogen bonds in enzymes and proteins.
most states add at least 1 ppm of sodium fluoride or fluorosilic
acid(radioactive toxic waste that contains fluoride)
to the water supply, even though it has been proven that at least 113
medical side effects from cancer to headaches are caused by fluoride
in the water. If your water is treated with fluoride or a fluoride
deriviate, click
here.
Arsenic
Arsenic is a semi-metal element that is odorless and tasteless.
It enters drinking water supplies from natural deposits in the earth or from
agricultural and industrial practices. Non-cancer effects can include thickening
and discoloration of the skin, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting; diarrhea; numbness
in hands and feet; partial paralysis; and blindness. Arsenic has been linked
to cancer of the bladder, lungs, skin, kidney, nasal passages, liver and prostate.
If your water has tested positive for arsenic, click
here.
Nitrate
Removal from Well Water or Springs
Drinking water high in nitrate is potentially harmful to human
and animal health. Nitrate (NO3) is a naturally occurring form of nitrogen
(N) which is very mobile in water. It is essential for plant growth
and is often added to soil to improve productivity. Water moving down
through soil after rainfall or irrigation carries dissolved nitrate
with it to ground water. In this way, nitrate enters the water supplies
of many homeowners who use wells or springs. If your source of water
is a well or spring and tests have identified nitrate, click
here.
Iron
Removal (Orange Tint to Water)
To
determine whether or not the CuZn filter will remove iron from your
drinking water, here's a simple test you can do yourself: Fill a
clear glass with water and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. If the iron
settles to the bottom then the standard 5-micron CuZn Countertop
Water Filter should be able to remove the majority of the
iron particles. If the particles remain suspended, a filter won't
help.
