Using a combination of trace minerals (copper and zinc in the patented form of KDF®, which meets NSF standards 42 and 61) and coconut shell carbon, the CuZn Refillable Countertop water filter removes more than 600 contaminants from water, including chlorine, lead, heavy metals, trihalomethanes (THMs), herbicides and pesticides much the same as Nature uses the earth and its minerals to cleanse water. (Unlike carbon-only filters, bacteria can't grow inside the bacteriostatic CuZn filters!)

The CuZn Refillable Countertop Water Filter is also excellent in situations where sulfur and iron are present and a CuZn Whole House system is not feasible. Sulfur and iron expends the media more quickly than other contaminants, so refilling the system is economical and environmentally responsible.

Single Cartridge Countertops

The CuZn Refillable Countertop Water Filter system treats all incoming cold water that goes to the kitchen or bathroom sink. Turn on your cold water faucet for an uninterrupted supply of fresh, clear, filtered water. The CuZn Countertop can also filter hot water, provided it is flushed with cold water afterward to release the heat that would otherwise be trapped within the filter housing.

Double Diverter Model
Double Diverter model (shown in picture to the right) has a twin-hose set-up so that water enters the filter from the kitchen faucet, goes through the filter, and then returns to the kitchen faucet where it is released. The advantage of the double diverter model is that the filter body can be set back away from the sink. The double diverter model is available in the following model:

Cyst Removal
All countertop models come standard with a 5 micron filter. If you suspect that your water may be contaminate with cysts, upgrade to the 1 micron filter for an additional $20.

NOTE: Flow capability usually drops off as the micron rating gets smaller, especially if the water has a lot of sediment, which well water often has.

Double Cartridge Countertops

CuZn's Double Cartridge Countertop Water Filters work on any home or office sink countertop to filter up to 10,000 gallons of cold water on demand! The first housing uses a combination of patented trace minerals (Copper-Zinc) which has been tested to NSF standard 42 and 61, and coconut shell carbon. This system will remove and/or reduce chlorine, sediment, algae, molds, scale, bad taste, odors, and other undesirable contaminants that may effect the quality of your water supply. And unlike carbon only filters, bacteria can't grow inside the bacteriostatic CuZn filters. There are two options for the second cartridge:

Fluoride and Fluorine Removal
Fluoride is a severe biological poison . Being intensely negative, it unlatches positive hydrogen bonds in enzymes and proteins. most states add at least 1 ppm of sodium fluoride or fluorosilic acid (radioactive toxic waste that contains fluoride) to the water supply, even though it has been proven that at least 113 medical side effects from cancer to headaches are caused by fluoride in the water.

Nitrate Removal from Well Water or Springs

Iron Removal (Orange Tint to Water)

To determine whether or not the CuZn filter will remove iron from your drinking water, here's a simple test you can do yourself: Fill a clear glass with water and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. If the iron settles to the bottom then the standard 5 micron CuZn Countertop Water Filter should should be able to remove the majority of the iron particles. If the particles remain suspended, a filter won't help.
