What Is Fluoride?

Fluoride is a severe biological poison . Being intensely negative, it unlatches positive hydrogen bonds in enzymes and proteins. Most states add at least 1 ppm of sodium fluoride or fluorosilic acid (radioactive toxic waste that contains fluoride) to the water supply, even though it has been proven that at least 113 medical side effects from cancer to headaches are caused by fluoride in the water. What Type Of Water Filter Removes Fluoride From Tap Water?

CuZn uses an Activated Alumina Fluoride water filter to filter out fluoride. Activated alumina is manufactured from aluminum hydroxide by dehydroxylating it in a way that produces a highly porous material; this material can have a surface area significantly over 200 square metres/g. The compound is used as a filter of fluoride, arsenic and selenium in drinking water. It is made of aluminum oxide (alumina; Al2O3), the same chemical substance as sapphire and rubies (but without the impurities that give those gems their color). It has a very high surface-area-to-weight ratio, which means it has a lot of very small pores, almost like tunnels, that run throughout it to absorb fluoride. Activated alumina filters can easily reduce fluoride levels from .5 ppm to less than .1 ppm. Activated Alumina is the best water filter that filters out fluoride.

But CuZn water filtration products don't stop there. The CuZn Double Cartridge Fluoride Water Filter includes a combination of trace minerals (copper and zinc in the patented form of KDF®, which meets NSF standards 42 and 61) and coconut shell carbon, the CuZn Refillable Countertop water filter removes more than 600 contaminants from water, including chlorine, lead, heavy metals, trihalomethanes (THMs), herbicides and pesticides much the same as Nature uses the earth and its minerals to cleanse water. (Unlike carbon-only filters, bacteria can't grow inside the bacteriostatic CuZn filters!)

The CuZn Refillable Countertop Double Cartridge Fluoride Water Filter is also excellent in situations where sulfur and iron are present and a CuZn Whole House system is not feasible. Sulfur and iron expends the media more quickly than other contaminants, so refilling the system is economical and environmentally responsible.

CuZn Fluoride Dual Cartridge Replacement Filters

The main 5-micron filter lasts 10,000 gallons for the under-counter model and 8,000 for the countertop, depending on water quality. A typical family of four uses 1,000 to 1,500 gallons of water per year. The fluoride filter removes 2500 ppm of fluoride and should last one year or more, depending on the amount of fluoride in the water.

Triple Cartridge Fluoride and Chloramines Removal

If your water contains both fluoride and chloramines, choose the CuZn triple cartridge fluoride and chloramines water filter system. It contains one cartridge filled with KDF-85, which breaks the bond between chlorine and ammonia that is used to make chloramines, then the acid wash coconut shell carbon removes the chlorine and ammonia from the water. The second cartridge contains activated alumina (not to be confused with aluminum) to remove the fluoride from the water. Then the third cartridge, with a patented filter foam KDF media and the coconut shell carbon additionally removes hundreds of chemicals, herbicides, pesticides, THMs, heavy metals and many other water contaminants.

Countertop models are available with a Swivel Spout (see image near top of page) or a Double Diverter option (see picture to the right).
