Under-Counter
Water Filters are ideal for use in Restaurants, Kitchens,
Wet Bars,
RVs, Boats, Bathroom Sinks . . . anywhere fresh, pure,
pollution-free,
great tasting washing, drinking or cooking water is desired.
Clean water is the lifeline to good health
and CuZn™ Under-Counter Water Filters provide the best possible
water for cooking, drinking and washing every time you turn on the
faucet.
The CuZn™ Under-Counter Water
Filter works beneath any home or office sink to filter up to
50,000 gallons (depending on model) of cold water on demand! Using
a combination of patented trace minerals (Copper-Zinc) which has been
tested to NSF standard 42 and 61, and acid wash coconut shell carbon,
they remove and/or reduce chlorine, sediment, algae,
molds, scale, bad taste, odors, and other undesirable contaminants that
may effect the quality of your water supply. And unlike carbon only filters,
bacteria can't grow inside the bacteriostatic CuZn filters.
The CuZn Under-Counter can also filter hot water, provided it
is flushed with cold water afterward to release the heat that would
otherwise be trapped within the filter housing. The CuZn Refillable
Under-Counter Water Filter is also excellent in situations where sulfur
and iron are present and a CuZn Whole House system is not feasible. Sulfur
and iron expends the media more quickly than other contaminants, so refilling
the system is economical and environmentally responsible.
Single Cartridge Under-Counter Refillable 1-Micron Water Filter
The
refillable under-counter
models (shown in picture to the right) are
maintenance free and install in about 15 minutes, hooking up to the
cold water supply - when you turn on the cold water it's all CuZn pure. Under-counter
models are available in three different micron sizes;
the smaller the micron the more particulate is removed from the water.
However, please note that the smaller the micron size, the sooner the
filter must be replaced because the filter becomes clogged sooner. You
can get an idea of how much particulate your water has by looking at
the contents of the filter by removing the strainer at the end of your
sink faucet.
The higher capacity, longer lasting 20-micon under-counter water filters are
not refillable.
CuZn Under-Counter Water Filters

Need to Remove Chloramines, Fluoride, Arsenic, Nitrates or Cysts?
Some water contaminants require addition filtration media to solve the
problem. CuZn offers double- and triple-cartridge water filtration systems,
in countertop and under-counter models, that can treat a variety of water
pollution problems. See each respective section for more information
about how CuZn water systems treat that specific problem:
Cysts and Pharmceutical Drugs
Common water-borne microbiological cysts are Cryptosporidium or Giardia
cysts. If your municipal water department is using chlorine and/or chloramines
to treat your water, cysts should not be a problem unless there is a
contamination in the water lines somewhere between your house and the
water processing plant. If you are on well water, cysts are potentially
a problem. A water test can detect cysts in your water.
Also, a recent analysis of tap water supplies in major metropolitan
areas discovered that the water was contaminated with trace amounts of
pharmaceuticals including antibiotics, anti-seizure medications, anti-inflammatory
drugs, psychotropic drugs, pain medications and even caffeine. If you
suspect that your water may be contaminate with cysts or pharmaceutical
drugs, upgrade to the 1-micron
absolute acid wash coconut shell carbon filter.
Chloramines
Chloramine is a mixture of chlorine and ammonia, which is added to the
water of many cities as a substitute for free chlorine. It is often referred
to in the plural, as “chloramines,” because it can take on a number of
forms according to the pH and mineral content of the water. The use of
monochloramine as a primary disinfectant in a municipal water supply
presents specific removal issues due to its low degradation rate. This
means that the disinfectant will be persistent and have a long life within
a municipal water supply. If your water is treated with chloromines, click
here.
Fluoride and Fluorine Removal
Fluoride is a severe biological poison. Being intensely negative,
it unlatches positive hydrogen bonds in enzymes and proteins. most states
add at least 1 ppm of sodium fluoride or fluorosilic
acid(radioactive toxic waste that contains fluoride) to the water
supply, even though it has been proven that at least 113 medical side
effects from cancer to headaches are caused by fluoride in the water.
If your water is treated with fluoride or a fluoride deriviate, click
here.
Arsenic
Arsenic is a semi-metal element that is odorless and tasteless.
It enters drinking water supplies from natural deposits in the earth
or from agricultural and industrial practices. Non-cancer effects can
include thickening and discoloration of the skin, stomach pain, nausea,
vomiting; diarrhea; numbness in hands and feet; partial paralysis; and
blindness. Arsenic has been linked to cancer of the bladder, lungs, skin,
kidney, nasal passages, liver and prostate. If your water has tested
positive for arsenic, click
here.
Nitrate Removal from Well Water or Springs
Drinking water high in nitrate is potentially harmful to human and
animal health. Nitrate (NO3) is a naturally occurring form of nitrogen
(N) which is very mobile in water. It is essential for plant growth and
is often added to soil to improve productivity. Water moving down through
soil after rainfall or irrigation carries dissolved nitrate with it to
ground water. In this way, nitrate enters the water supplies of many
homeowners who use wells or springs. If your source of water is a well
or spring and tests have identified nitrate, click
here.
Iron Removal (Orange Tint to Water)
To determine whether or not the CuZn filter will remove iron from your
drinking water, here's a simple test you can do yourself: Fill a clear
glass with water and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. If the iron settles
to the bottom then the standard 5-micron CuZn Countertop Water Filter
should be able to remove the majority of the iron particles. If the particles
remain suspended, a filter won't help.
