Whole House Water Filter Cartridges
provide an uninterrupted supply of pure, filtered water throughout the
whole house and yard. All the water used for drinking, cooking, bathing,
washing, laundry and landscaping benefits from being purified by one
central whole house system. CuZn's water filter for the whole house safeguards health and protects
plumbing and appliances from staining, corrosion and scale.
The whole house filter removes hundreds of
contaminants including chlorine, lead, heavy metals, asbestos, iron,
hydrogen sulfide and hard scale. CuZn-filtered water is noticeably
softer — without salts or chemicals. Nor are there membranes or filters
to replace.
All CuZn whole house water filter systems include
a user-programmable automatic backwashing head. Auto-backwashing filters
refresh (backwash) themselves periodically to insure an optimum level of
performance and to prevent "channelling". Whole house auto-backwashing
filters greatly enhance the performance of softener systems.
CuZn's whole house water filter cartridge will provide years of service
and can be refilled when the media bed is exhausted.

feet or smaller. Two models are available, both using a 3/4" inlet and

Larger Homes

When CuZn Water Systems are properly installed and
used, they are warranted for:

Backwashing Frequently Asked Questions:
Lots of folks have asked questions about the backwashing head on the
whole house system. Here are the three most commonly asked questions and
the answers.
How many gallons does it use in the backwash?
Around fifty gallons. It could be slightly more or less depending
upon water pressure.
How long does the backwashing last?
It lasts approximately 10 minutes.
What is the flow rate of the backwash water?
5-7 gallons per minute flow rate
Does it have to backwash every day?
It's advisable to backwash daily but not mandatory. Often times
systems on municipally treated water backwash once every three or
four days. Systems on wells are urged to backwash daily. The
frequency of backwash depends greatly upon the quality of water.
