Seychelle Water Filtration Technology & Maintenance
How Seychelle Water Filters Works, What They Remove, Test Results,
When to Change Filter
and How to Store Filters When Not in Use
Seychelle is simply the best and most effective line of portable and home
water filtration products. Their filtration media features its unique Ionic
Adsorption Micron Filter Technology that removes up to 99.99% of the contaminants
and pollutants that can be found in drinking water. But while they take the
bad stuff out - they leave in the beneficial trace minerals such as calcium,
magnesium and potassium.
Seychelle Standard and Advanced filters are the only personal water filtration
system capable of up to 99.99% reduction in all four main areas of contamination:
Aesthetic - Taste, Odor, Chlorine, Chloramines
Chemical - VOCs, PCBs, THMs, SOCs, Pesticides
Dissolved Solids - Heavy Metals (lead, mercury, aluminum, asbestos)
Microbiological - Pathogens
How Seychelle Water Filters Work
Through medical technology Seychelle created a uniform 2-micron absolute pore
size for the assured reduction and removal of the above listed contaminants.
The high-tech porous plastic micro-filter is impregnated with both the finest
granulated activated coconut shell carbon available and Seychelle's exclusive
adsorbing media for superior analyte removal capability.
Additionally, the controlled 2-micron filter contains thousands
of omni-directional pores that result in a "tortuous path" for superior
analyte reduction. The exclusive Seychelle Ionic-Adsorption Micro-Filtration
coordinates all processes of contaminant reduction by Adsorption, Absorption,
chemical bonding, chelation and depth filtration.
The Most Laboratory and Field-Tested of Their Kind in the World
All Seychelle filters, from the smallest to the largest are the most field-tested
of their kind in the world using EPA protocols and tested by Broward Testing
Standards 42 and 53. Seychelle
filtering technology beats
competing products in percentage and range of contaminants removed. Read

Seychelle Regular Filter -
The Regular filter removes chlorine, chloramines, chemicals (VOCs), heavy
metals and Radon 222. Since it is more open in porosity, it does NOT remove
giardia, cryptosporidium or E-Coli. The Seychelle Regular filter is designed
to be used as a drinking water filter for use with chlorinated municipal
water and as a bottled water replacement. The regular filter is available
in this Seychelle product:
Seychelle Standard Filter - The Standard filter is ideal
for any in or outdoor use, like traveling, hiking, biking, camping, fishing
or for emergency purposes. It can be used with any type of water source;
tap or rainwater, rivers, streams or even lakes (excluding salt water).
It is designed for use with water that is non-turbid (turbid water
has sediment or foreign particles stirred up or suspended; muddy water) and
non-stagnant (stagnant water has no water movement).
The Seychelle Standard filter removes up to 99.99% of contaminants and
pollutants found in fresh water supplies including aesthetics (chlorine,
sediment and dirt), biologicals (Giardia, Cryptosporidium, E-Coli
Bacteria), chemicals (VOC's) such as DDT, MTBE, Benzene, Chloroforms (THM's)
and dissolved solids (heavy metals) such as Arsenic, Lead, Mercury,
Copper, Zinc, Aluminum and Chromium 6. The standard filter is available in
these Seychelle products:
Seychelle Advanced Filter -
The Advanced filter is made of the same media as the Standard filter with
the addition of EPA approved iodinated resin (EPA Reg #: 35917-2), which
has been proven effective in the removal of bacteria and virus to six logs
(99.9999%). The Seychelle Advanced filter can be used in extreme conditions,
including turbid and stagnant water, and is ideal for emergencies
and natural disasters such as events that
occurred in the US with Katrina, the hurricane in Haiti, and the recent earthquake
in Japan. The advanced filter is available in these Seychelle products:
Most Seychelle filters deliver up to 100 gallons of great-tasting, clean water
before they need to be replaced. This is equal to up to 757 half liters of
bottled water, depending on the water quality. When the water
flow becomes greatly diminished and it is difficult to squeeze water through
the filter bottle, it is time to replace the filter.
Seychelle warrants that all products are free from defects for 90 days. This
guarantee does not cover improper use or maintenance or premature clogging
by overly turbid water.
IMPORTANT NOTE: DO NOT USE SEYCHELLE FILTERS WITH SALT WATER.
Seychelle Water Filter Product Maintenance
Seychelle filters have an indefinite shelf life, providing you follow these
simple steps for prolonged storage:
Fill the bottle with chlorinated water made by mixing one half tsp of
chlorine with one US gallon of water (or less depending on which product
you have). Run this through the system and then rinse and flush with filtered
Allow the bottle/filter assembly to dry overnight unassembled.
Re-assemble the bottle/filter.
You may now store the product for any length of time.
NOTE: New, unused filters can be stored for many years without degradation.
