Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV)
The Venmar Constructo energy recovery ventilator (ERV) is the proper choice for warmer climates, where home cooling is essential. The Venmar Constructo ERV keeps the home supplied with a steady flow of fresh outdoor air. As stale, cool air is expelled, the energy recovery core cools the incoming fresh, warmer air before it is distributed throughout the home. The result is a constant supply of fresh air, no unpleasant drafts and greater home comfort. In addition to energy recovery and improved air quality, the ERV provides necessary ventilation while controlling excess humidity.
Constructo 1.0 ERV
The Constructo 1.0 ERV is ingenious air exchange solution that’s as versatile as it is compact. Configured with factory built vertical or horizontal ports, the Constructo 1.0 can fit almost anywhere. Tucked in a bulkhead or closet, it’s the most versatile 100 CFM unit available on the market today. This compact, lightweight, and powerful unit is the ideal choice for small prefab and tract houses and other limited space applications. What’s more, it is the only air exchanger of its size that can be transformed from an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) to an Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV), simply by changing its core. The Constructo 1.0 ERV is available in horizontal or vertical ports.
Constructo Quattro 1.5 and 2.0 ERV
The
Constructo Quattro series transfers energy and moisture from one airstream
to another, which optimizes energy recovery and maintains proper humidity levels
in all climates. The Quattro has the following features:
- When it is Hot and Humid, the Quattro limits the amount of heat and moisture entering the home to optimize comfort, enhance energy efficiency and reduce strain on air conditioner.
- When it is Hot and Dry, the Quattro recovers moisture to maintain proper humidity levels inside, keeps heat from entering the home and reduces strain on humidifiers.

Tandem
Transition Kit
The Tandem Transition Kit ONLY works with Venmar units with 110 cfm or less: HEPA 3100 HRV, HEPA 4100 ERV and Constructo 1.0 (both ERV and HRV). This kit is included in the HEPA installation kit, but it can be ordered separately. Main Wall Control Options
Constructo
Wall Control $39.33
The Constructo main wall control can only be used on Constructo models and adjusts the air supply speed using the sliding button:
- OFF
- MIN (low speed air exchange)
- MAX (high speed air exchange).
Also, the
maximum indoor humidity level for your house is selected
by the knob.
Constructo Light-Touch Wall Control
The Constructo Light-Touch main wall control can only be used on Constructo models. The light indicator color of this wall control shows clearly in which operating mode the unit is. This push-button control has three functions:
- Intermittent (low speed air exchange during
- 20 minutes, then stops during 40 minutes)
- Min (low speed air exchange)
- Max (high speed air exchange)

Simple Touch Wall Control (Constructo 1.0 Only)
The Constructo Simple-Touch main wall control is exclusively used on the Constructo ERV 1.0 model. The light indicator color of this wall control shows clearly in which operating mode the unit is. This push-button control has three functions:
- Recirculation (stops exchanging air with the outside and recirculates inside air at high speed)
- Min (low speed air exchange)
- Max (high speed air exchange)

Optional Wall Controls
20-Minute
Lighted Push-Button
This timer allows the unit to provide 20 minutes of high speed ventilation at the push of a button, to expel rapidly indoor stale air. Lighted when activated, up to five of them can be installed (e.g.: in bathroom, kitchen, laundry room, etc.)
60-Minute
Mechanical Timer
This timer allows up to 60 minutes of high speed operation.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance should be performed every 3 months. Annual maintenance should also take place every fall season. Remove filters.
- Vacuum to remove most of the dust.
- Wash with a mixture of warm water and mild soap. Rinse thoroughly. Shake filters to remove excess water and let dry. NOTE: Washing the filters in the top tray of the dishwasher is possible, but the aluminum frame might tarnish.
- Replace the optional filters (electronic, pleated or charcoal) if applicable. Do not wash in water.
- Check the exterior air intake hood. Make sure no leaves, twigs, ice or snow have been drawn into the vent. Clean if necessary.
