If its red, run! If you see red mold (Legionella), leave the area immediately. Red mold is very dangerous.

Mold loves pools of water. Gutters that deposit rain water close to the house create a breeding ground for mold. The solution is to route the gutter away from the house with gutter extensions for proper drainage.

Mold loves standing water. Standing water is a breeding ground for mold, so check your house for water leaks in these areas: under the kitchen and bathroom sinks, under the refrigerator and dishwasher, around a toilet, bathtub, shower and how water tank and around washer hoses.

Using your nose to detect mold. If you smell a musty, moldy smell in your house, it most likely means that mold it growing somewhere.
